I've just created a tutorial that covers the basics of creating a simple custom display module for emoncms that shows a readout of current home power use and how many kwh's have been used today.
The tutorial is up on github here:
https://github.com/emoncms/development/blob/master/Modules/myelectric_tutorial/readme.md
What should I expand on in the emoncms module building tutorial next?

Dear Trystan:
ReplyDeleteWe are working translating emoncms to spanish and there are several languajes into poedit but when we change the main languaje the php application doesn´t change it properly.
Do you know how to change it?
Another issue. In local servers we have a very useful extra which can send e-mails depending on feed values. Can we have the same extra module into emoncms.org server? are there anything to do in that way?
Thanks a lot.
I can't use "average" feed in emoncms.org server. How i can do that?
ReplyDeleteHello Berna
ReplyDeleteAt the moment the event module would need more development to be used on emoncms.org to make sure that it doesnt cause any load problems, such as if a lot of feeds across many users keeps sending event emails. At the moment the event module is tightly coupled with the feed module, when an email is being sent it delay's processing in the feed module. If we can get the event module to run off a separate queue with worker processes then its load could be regulated.
The timestore engine has averaging already integrated which is why the average input processor was removed in the latest version. To access daily averages on timestore feeds try the timestoredaily visualisation.
For multilingual support you might need to enable the languages you want on your system
in the gettext documentation here: http://emoncms.org/site/docs/gettext
these are the important steps
sudo locale-gen es_ES
sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart
Good to hear your trying it and working on the spanish translation.
Trystan!
ReplyDeleteWhen we can have devices control online such as relay control RFM12 packet sender and these awsome possibilities?
We are really interested on that in order to switch off circuits from internet easily without a HDD.
